This role is designed as a lead maintenance opportunity for a hands-on professional who can provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members while helping drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement efforts. Because this position also serves as the department supervisor when the Facility and Equipment Manager is unavailable, Sioux Manufacturing views this role as a strong leadership development opportunity for an individual with the potential to advance into the Facilities Manager position in the near future. The position will provide technical support, maintenance and continuous improvements for Sioux Manufacturing’s facility and equipment. You must correctly train and follow all required processes and procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Professionally, timely and accurately work on projects assigned by the Facility and Equipment Manager (installations, preventive maintenance, repairs, rebuilds, up-grades etc.)
  • Will coordinate with and cooperatively work with engineering and maintenance to quickly and accurately problem solve equipment and/or repair production and/or facility issues including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
  • Accurately repair equipment and/ or find replacement parts, supplies using manuals, internet, catalogs, technical support and/or other avenues for accurate troubleshooting.
  • Work on projects assigned by the Facility and Equipment Manager (installations, preventive maintenance, repairs, rebuilds, up-grades etc.).
  • Check and maintain machine speeds, systems, rollers, air systems, filters, oilers as required in equipment documentation and department procedures
  • The Industrial Maintenance Tech II will be responsible to be a supervisor in the department when the Facility and Equipment Manager is not available and/or out of the office.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations for the safety of people, property, and Sioux Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts to improve your skills and/or department processes.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to correctly train, lead, and mentor department operators and maintenance employees in correct methods and procedures to ensure the success of all employees, departments, and Sioux Man.
  • Ability to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, manipulating objects as required by all standard operating procedures and/or other documented instructions
  • Desktop/Office suite, Human Resources/timekeeping, machine specific, work-related phone apps

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required: Two (2) year technical college certification in Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or other similar field of study. A Valid and current North Dakota driver’s License must be kept during employment. Ability to get forklift certified at Sioux Manufacturing in first 90-Days
  • Preferred: Five (5) years of manufacturing maintenance experience. One (1) year of manufacturing supervision experience. A blend of education and/or significant, relevant experience that gives related, current knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully navigate the position may be substituted
