JOB SUMMARY:

JOB SUMMARY The Grant Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the financial and compliance aspects of grants for the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) and affiliated entities. This position ensures that all grant-funded programs are properly tracked, reported, and administered in accordance with applicable federal, state, and Tribal requirements. Working under the direction of the Finance Director, the Grant Specialist partners with program staff and department leaders to support grant budgeting, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with funding requirements. This role serves as a central resource for grant-related financial processes, reporting, and documentation. The Grant Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that grant funding is effectively managed and aligned with organizational goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and track grant expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets and funding requirements
  • Prepare and submit required financial reports, invoices, and reimbursement requests to funding agencies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all grants, including contracts, amendments, and reporting deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Tribal grant regulations and guidelines
  • Support grant application processes by assisting with budget development and financial documentation
  • Track grant performance and identify potential risks related to funding, compliance, or spending
  • Assist with audit preparation related to grant-funded programs, including gathering supporting documentation
  • Develop and maintain tools and processes to improve grant tracking and reporting

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in grant management, financial administration, or related field
  • Experience working with grant-funded programs and compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting
  • Ability to interpret grant agreements, regulations, and funding requirements
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial systems

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience working in Tribal, governmental, or nonprofit environments
  • Familiarity with federal grant regulations (e.g., Uniform Guidance)
  • Experience with multi-program or multi-entity grant administration
  • Experience with financial reporting systems and grant tracking tools
  • Experience supporting grant applications and funding proposals
