JOB SUMMARY:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) receives administrative direction from and reports to the Executive Director, however the CFO is selected by the Yakama Nation Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. The CFO is responsible for ensuring timely accomplishment of all fiscal management. Fiscal management includes motivation, supervision and training of accounting associates and warehouse associates. Fiscal management also includes review of financial records with subordinates and management to ensure accuracy, completeness, and initiative-taking management. The CFO is expected to present accurate reports to the Board of Commissioners and Management that reflects adherence to 24 CFR 1000, Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act, 200 CFR Uniform Guidance, Low Income Housing Tax Credit and YNHA Policy. This position is not eligible for remote work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervisory responsibility of the accounting department
  • Compliance with all regulations and financial best practices.
  • Responsibilities include managing financial planning, tracking financial performance, preparing detailed financial reports, and providing strategic guidance on fiscal matters to support the organization’s mission.
  • The CFO will also work closely with other leadership team members and external auditors to optimize financial performance and accountability.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of federal housing program regulations and financial administration is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance or Accounting

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials
