JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Pueblo of Jemez Tribal Governors and Administration, the Director of Jemez Health & Human Services is responsible for the overall administration, leadership, and programmatic oversight of all services provided by Jemez Health & Human Services (JHHS). This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered healthcare and human services to the community of Jemez Pueblo while advancing the organization’s mission, strategic priorities, financial sustainability, and 638 self-governance operations. The Director provides executive leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight for all JHHS programs and departments. This includes primary care and ambulatory services, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health, optometry, audiology, podiatry, and additional medical specialty services. The position also oversees community-based programs including public health, social services, senior services, transportation, community wellness, and vocational rehabilitation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the overall administration and programmatic oversight of all programs provided by Jemez Health and Human Services.
  • Provides leadership, direction and administration of all aspects of the organization to achieve its mission, strategic goals and maintain its financial and 638-self-governance viability.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the mission, vision and values of JHHS; leads the development, implementation and maintenance of JHHS strategic plan, performs long range program planning to meet the needs of JHHS through collaboration with executive leadership team and JHHS Health board.
  • Responsible for overall management of JHHS’s finances with accountability to Tribal Administration and Health Board.
  • Knowledge of Title V of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA) and its relevance to Tribal self-governance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in business/public/health administration
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of direct managerial/executive experience in health systems administration
