JOB SUMMARY:

The CEO will provide strategic leadership and oversight of NKI’s enterprises, serving as the primary liaison between the Board and General Managers. This role drives business growth, ensures operational excellence, promotes economic development, and represents NKI and the Tribe in government, business, and community relations. The CEO will lead senior management, manage enterprise performance, and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic direction and operational oversight across all NKI enterprises
  • Implement Board policies and ensure efficient, transparent operations
  • Identify and develop new business ventures, partnerships, and investments
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and capital projects
  • Serve as the primary liaison between NKI, the Board, and the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe
  • Negotiate contracts, real estate transactions, and executive compensation packages
  • Promote workforce development and employment opportunities for Tribal members
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate policies
  • Represent NKI in community, governmental, and inter-tribal forums

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
  • Minimum of ten years of senior executive leadership, preferably within a tribal enterprise
  • Proven record of economic development, strategic planning, and business growth
  • h Strong understanding of Tribal sovereignty, governance, and community-based economics
