JOB SUMMARY:

The Tribal Administrator leads the Prairie Island Indian Community Tribal government operations on behalf of Prairie Island Indian Community Council. The Tribal Administrator will work with Economic Development team and will serve as a business partner by providing sound business advice regarding strategy, communication and best business practices. The Tribal Administrator will be a driver and resource that is dedicated to serving the Community by offering the best possible services in all aspects of their assigned duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advance the strategic goals and objectives through departmental initiatives in alignment with PIIC’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources Director and team for staff development programs and training. Will act as a leader and resource for developing and implementing workforce development plans.
  • Under Council’s direction, leads the affairs of the tribal government to include Membership Services, Natural Resources and Land Planning, Public Works and Infrastructure, and Health and Human Resources.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration or related field, and/or experience equivalent to educational requirement and/or a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years in public or tribal government administration with at least three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise of the principles, practices and problem-solving techniques of public administration and professional tribal management.
