JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for managing all grant accounting functions; in addition to overseeing the Grants Management Department. The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial management, compliance, and reporting of grants and funded programs. This role ensures that all grant-related financial activities align with organizational policies, funding agency requirements, and applicable laws and regulations. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting audits related to grants. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of senior-level accounting experience, the ability to work independently, and a proven track record of meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial management, compliance, and reporting of grants and funded programs.
  • This role ensures that all grant-related financial activities align with organizational policies, funding agency requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or another related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 2. Minimum of 5 years senior-level accounting experience, with demonstrated experience in grant accounting or non-profit accounting.
  • 4. Excellent computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications required, knowledge or experience with Sage Intact is helpful.
  • 5. In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and federal grant compliance (e.g., Uniform Guidance).
