JOB SUMMARY:

Provide ongoing care and education to chronically ill patients and families. Coordinate with Medical Director for organizational updates; conduct medical staff in-services and community education as directed.Oversee, train, and evaluate medical staff; offer clinical supervision; support healthcare goals and promote a productive, positive work environment.Serve on P&T, URC, Peer Review, Risk Management, and Chronic Disease Committees as assigned to enhance care and foster professional development.Maintain records and licensure per professional, federal, and accreditation guidelines; ensure compliance with Medical Staff By-Laws, credentialing requirements, and policies. Maintain Board Certification.Follow and promote adherence to laws, safety codes, and all organizational manuals and policies. Must have a positive work history, maintain reliable attendance, and uphold confidentiality. Flexible hours required, including possible work during emergencies or pandemics across all shifts and weekends.Perform pandemic-related duties and other assigned tasks. Work is conducted in clinical settings and may involve extended standing, walking, sitting, bending, or stooping. Travel to field clinics may be required via GSA vehicle. May lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.Potential exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, and unpredictable behavior from patients or visitors. Use of PPE, including gloves, may be required. Nimiipuu Health is a smoke- and drug-free workplace.Must meet all Nimiipuu Employee Health requirements per Infection Control Policies and maintain current CPR/BLS certification.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide professional, culturally sensitive outpatient care to eligible tribal clinic patients, including screening, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Document visits within 72 hours in the EHR, order and interpret tests, and prescribe treatment within licensure scope.
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed and coordinate with other providers and Nimiipuu Health services, including Behavioral Health, Dental, Optometry, and Community Health.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • D.O. or M.D. license in good standing from any state. Requires Family Practice or Internal Medicine board certification, or board eligibility.
  • Current CPR/BLS; ACLS and/or PALS encouraged. Must possess the ability to work independently, have excellent communications skills, both oral and written, ability to handle conflict and crisis in a prof
  • Must pass background check and drug screening. Requires valid driver’s license with insurable record. Must work independently, communicate effectively, manage conflict professionally, and be computer literate.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of history, culture and health needs of Native American communities preferred.
