JOB SUMMARY:
Provide professional, courteous, and comprehensive preventive dental care. Deliver a full range of dental services within scope of licensure.Provide consultation and oversight for Purchased and Referred Care dental services in line with NMPH policies; authorize and justify dental fund use as needed.Support quality care by helping assess conditions, resources, and policies. Assist with in-service training and community outreach, including senior and Head Start programs. Actively participate on the oral health care team.May serve as Dental Department Supervisor in their absence and represent the department on assigned committees.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, safety codes, HIPAA, CDC guidelines, and organizational policies.Must maintain a positive work history, consistent attendance, and strict confidentiality. Position may require working irregular hours, weekends, or responding during emergencies or pandemics.Perform other duties as assigned. Work is primarily in a clinical setting, requiring extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, bending, and travel to field clinics. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. PPE is required. Exposure to infectious diseases, body fluids, fumes, radiation, nitrous oxide, dental material dust, and unpredictable patient behavior is common. Nimiipuu Health is a smoke- and drug-free workplace. Must meet all Nimiipuu Employee Health requirements per Infection Control Policies and maintain current CPR/BLS certification.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a full scope of general dental health services, be responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating commonly encountered dental diseases and dental health problems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a DDS/DMD degree from an American Dental Association accredited dental school, with two (2) years of experience, preferably in general practice or completion of an AEGD or GPR program; state licensure in good standing and maintain licensure.
- Must have valid licensure and driver’s license (insurable under Tribe). Requires strong communication, independence, professionalism, and basic computer/office skills. Must pass background check and drug screening. Tribal/Indian Preference applies.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Conduct exams, diagnose, and prescribe treatment; refer to specialists as needed. Address and document issues like drug sensitivity, stress tolerance, communication, and other physical/emotional concerns.
