JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction and review of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist administers the Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation (TDN) health programs. The position must provide a wide range of support, including possessing the ability to interact with staff and be able to work in a fast paced and sometimes pressured environment, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. This position must sustain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while maintaining attention to detail.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains all employee and applicant documentation for new hires, promotions and terminations as dictated by federal and state regulations.
  • Maintains employee personnel files and accurate records within our Human Resource Information Systems.
  • Schedules and conducts New Hire Intake, Onboarding, and Orientation based on business needs.
  • Assists with recruitment tasks as needed, reviews the internal recruitment process, fields inquiries from applicants and maintains applications.
  • Initiates new hire benefits which includes medical, dental, vision, life and supplemental programs. Maintains changes of information by obtaining, verifying and recording employee information and informing need to know parities of new or changed information. Responsible for benefits admin, & term
  • Monitor and respond to employee inquiries through email, telephone and other types of communication.
  • Provides clerical assistance and data collection at the request of management or our benefit administrators
  • Maintains employee records in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ability to operate a human resource information system and similar computer software applications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field
  • Certified THRP
  • 5-years experience in HR
  • Valid state issued driver’s license and/or the ability to obtain a California or Oregon driver’s license. Must be insurable on the Tribe’s insurance policy.
