    Born and raised in San Francisco, Janet has always had a passion for recruitment, with 30 years in the human resources industry. She has much experience working with several Tribal Casinos since 2005. She worked at Pala Resort & Casino for two years, and Pechanga Resort and Casino for 15 years. She began her HR career in the file room and with much dedication and drive over the years, worked her way up to a Director of Talent Management. She attended San Francisco State and received her master’s Certification in HR from Cornell University.

    Committed to always learning and improving, she is certified with Tribal Human Resource Professional (THRP), Certified Talent Acquisition Specialist, (TAS), Certified Staffing Professional (CSP), Analytics for Talent Management, (ATM) , Digital Social Media Certified (DSMC) and Certified Social Sourcing Recruiter (CSSR). Janet was elected as a NNAHRA Board Member in 2019 and became a staff team member April 2021. Janet is always excited to work with all the tribes in our Nation, and her mission is to help others in HR across the map.

    Barbara Griffin

    Barb Griffin has worked in Indian Country for almost 20 years. With over 25 years of Human Resources leadership experience, her ability to relate and share best practices with fellow HR Professionals from real life scenarios makes her a valued asset to NNAHRA. Barb also served on the NNAHRA Board of Directors for three years and has also worked for national hospitality resort chains during her career. While working for a leading tribally owned organization, Barb launched a tribal member Management Intern Program, assisted in the creation of a mentoring program for enterprise leaders with the local elementary school, developed supervisor training, spearheaded a training certificate program through the local community college with academic credits, all while streamlining processes and positioning the enterprise as a self-funded benefit model. Her professional passion is in the development of employee relations programs and her personal passion is founded in her four grandchildren and supporting animal rescue projects. Barb is responsible to a myriad of duties at NNAHRA to include membership, the Tribal HR Professional certificate program administration, and a host of supportive roles.

    Leticia Joe, a member of the Navajo Nation, is excited about the opportunity to join the National Native American Human Resources Association (NNAHRA) Team as the Special Events Planner. Leticia’s passion for Native American tourism, combined with her marketing and event planning expertise positions her to successfully contribute to NNAHRA's mission and goals to serve Indian Country.

    With over 13 years of experience, Leticia has been dedicated to advancing tourism for the growth and sustainability of Native American-owned and operated businesses. Her educational achievements and hands-on experience managing communication channels and streamlining the planning process make her an expert in project management, team building and data analysis. Leticia's commitment to continuous learning about professional development will contribute to the success of her new role.
