HR Generalist -Employee Relations

JOB SUMMARY:

With oversight from the HR Director, the Employee Relations professional is responsible for the development and administration of the employee relations program and employeeemployer relations. Specific focus on employee and employer relations, performance management, compensation program and interactive process. Coordinates and Provides strategic advice to supervisors, managers and directors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers and interprets Tribes HR Policy, Employment Code, etc.
  • Facilitates workplace investigations (grievance process) such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, etc.
  • Acts as a liaison between department managers and employees.
  • Conducts annual compensation program review to include annual salary survey and updates as necessary
  • Provides advice and counsel to directors/managers/supervisors regarding tribal practices, policy and employment laws.
  • Represents management in investigating, answering and settling grievances, when appropriate.
  • In coordination with the legal department, may respond to EEOC charges.
  • May facilitate interactive process in response to requests for reasonable accommodations.
  • Coordinates performance management program.
  • Coordinates training for managers and employees within functional area of responsibility.
  • Escalates issues to HR Director as necessary.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation in HR platform.
  • Provides monthly reports to HR Director.
  • Ensures compliance with all tribal and federal discrimination and employment regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess High School Diploma, GED equivalent or CHSPE required.
  • AA/AS degree and 1 year of human resources experience or 3 years of human resources experience required.
  • Knowledge about all federal and state employment laws.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite including excel.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others as a team player.
  • Must be detail oriented.
