JOB SUMMARY:

The Information Technology Director provides strategic leadership, governance, and oversight for all information technology functions of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians. This role is responsible for establishing enterprise-wide IT vision, policy, security, and technology standards that support organizational operations, regulatory compliance, and long-term goals.The IT Director serves as the senior authority for technology strategy, cybersecurity, risk management, budgeting, and enterprise system planning.The Director works closely with the Tribal Administrator, executive leadership, and department heads to align technology investments with organizational priorities. Day-to-day IT operations are delegated to the Information Technology Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and maintains the Tribe’s overall information technology strategy, roadmap, and standards.
  • Establishes IT policies, procedures, and governance frameworks related to systems, security, access control, and data management.
  • Ensures alignment between IT initiatives and organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Establishes and monitors cybersecurity, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity frameworks.
  • Establishes documentation, knowledge-transfer, and cross-training standards to ensure continuity of IT operations and leadership.
  • Develops and oversees the IT budget in coordination with the Tribal Administrator and Finance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in information technology.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing enterprise IT systems, cybersecurity, and technology governance.
  • Experience with budgeting, vendor management, and strategic planning.
  • Experience working in public sector, Tribal government, or highly regulated environments preferred.
