JOB SUMMARY:
Oversee the daily operations of the clinical operations departments, including scheduling staff shifts, evaluation of patient volume, managing patient flow, ensuring all areas are adequately staffed, and preparing timely reports; facilitate regular departmental meetings to communicate priorities and updates, ensuring patient care is delivered in a responsible, culturally sensitive, respectful and caring manner. Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, Tribal regulations/codes, and industry standards; maintain up-to-date department policy manuals and ensure timely dissemination of relevant information to all departments. Review and update the strategic plan as it pertains to the clinical operations departments, working towards continuous improvement of both clinic operations. Develop and manage clinical department budgets, providing insight operational costs, including staffing, equipment, treatment resources, and facility maintenance ensuring that sufficient resources are allocated to support both operational and clinical needs. Support in the recruitment, hiring, and training of clinic staff to build a skilled and motivated workforce to promote “team” building. Evaluate and approve training needs for clinical department staff, including Continuing Medical Education (CME), student internships, and clinical placements (with Executive Director approval). Ensure that all necessary agreements between NMPH and educational institutions are established prior to engagement. Develop, communicate, and execute Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives within clinical departments. Collaborate with the QI Chair to create quality indicators and assist with the execution of necessary QI audits and reviews. Assist the Patient Advocate with patient/community complaints and concerns, working to resolve issues promptly, improve patient satisfaction, and directly respond to patients as needed. Other duties as assigned.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will oversee the daily administrative operations of the Lapwai and Kamiah clinics.
- Work collaboratively with the Medical Director to enhance operational efficiency, ensuring both the administrative and medical aspects are well integrated.
- Provide overall administration and supervision of the following departments and programs: Pharmacy, Optometry, Massage, Behavioral Health, Community Health, and Dental.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing or other Life Sciences;
- 4 years of experience in a medical clinic or hospital with 3 years of experience in supervision or management;
- knowledge of healthcare delivery systems: ability to work independently, have excellent communication skills, oral and written, ability to handle conflict and crisis in a professional matter, and be computer literate; pass an extensive background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening; possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable record.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- General knowledge of working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems; knowledge of history, culture and health needs of Native American communities.
