JOB SUMMARY:
This Assistant General Counsel position will focus on supporting the Prairie Island Indian Community’s gaming entity, Treasure Island Resort & Casino. Contract drafting, review and negotiation, as well as providing general business legal advice, are the main components of this position. To fill this role, the Legal Department is looking for an enthusiastic, can-do attorney ready to take on a robust transactional practice for the existing tribal enterprise and work with our wonderful team of supportive professionals. This Assistant General Counsel will work under the guidance of the General Counsel in the Legal Department however, the ideal candidate will take on primary responsibility for commercial representation of Treasure Island Resort & Casino.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide legal advice and services to Treasure Island Resort & Casino including legal advice and representation in all aspects of business and governance.
- Draft, review, revise and negotiate contracts for all Treasure Island Resort & Casino departments.
- Conduct legal research and analysis and provide legal representation in proceedings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Must be a Member of the Minnesota State Bar and licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota
- Minimum five (5) years of legal experience with knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: gaming, information technology, contract drafting, human resources, tribal business and/or government
