The Director – Gaming Operations at Ute Mountain Casino Hotel plays a pivotal role in shaping the success and innovation of the casino floor, specifically overseeing an average of 660 slot machines; 13 table games; a +400-patron Bingo Hall; and Sports Book. This position is responsible for the strategic management and operational excellence of the gaming operations department. The objective of the Director – Gaming Operations is to maintain and expand the casino’s position as a leader in the gaming industry through strategic oversight and innovative management of all gaming operations. This includes leveraging advanced analytics, aligning efforts towards a coherent mission, and ensuring the gaming floor’s alignment with market trends and customer preferences. The Director is tasked with developing and implementing strategies that maximize profitability, streamline operations, and enhance the gaming experience for all guests. By leading with a focus on excellence, sustainability, and team development, the Director aims to achieve and surpass financial targets, operational goals, and customer service standards, thereby contributing significantly to the overall success and growth of Ute Mountain Casino Hotel.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership and Oversight of all departments that make up Gaming Operations. Specifically overseeing an average of 660 slot machines; 13 table games; a +400-patron Bingo Hall; and Sports Book.
- Mentorship, Guidance, and Strategic Execution.
- Technology and Machine Management. Understanding of Aristocrat, IGT, Konami, Incredible Technology, Bally, etc.
- Data Analytics, Forecasting, and Reporting.
- Financial Management.
- Regulatory Compliance.
- Risk Management
- Personnel Management.
- Vendor and Stakeholder relations.
- Collaboration and Teamwork as part of an executive team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 21 years old to obtain a UMUGC Key License (required). Must be able to pass the UMUGC and CG background investigations (no financial crimes or other felonies).
- At least ten years of progressive gaming experience and responsibility, to include Class II and Class III environments
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in an applicable discipline preferred but not required.
- No certifications are required for this role. Certifications in Gaming Compliance, Project Management, or other applicable disciplines are preferred but not required.
- Recent tribal gaming experience strongly preferred.
