Tribal Employment News – Overtime Rules Suspended

The new Department of Labor rules, modifying which employees may be exempt from the overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act were to go into effect on December 1, have been suspended by a federal district court. ¬†Judge Amos Mazzant, a President Obama appointee, in a November 22 ruling declared the DOL rules exceed its “delegated authority and Congress’s intent” and suspended the rules.
